But His Sacred Majesty does not value such\line \expndtw4 gifts or honours as that how should there be a growth of\line the essential elements of all religious sects. The growth\line \expndtw12 of this genuine matter, is, however, of many kinds.\line \expndtw9 But the root of it is \i restraint of speech., \i0 that is, that\line \expndtw5 there should not be honour of one's own sect and\line \expndtw4 condemnation of others' sects without any ground. Such\line slighting should be for specified grounds only. On the\line \charscalex91\expndtw0 other hand, \i the sects of others should be honoured \i0 for this\line \charscalex100\expndtw20 ground and that. Thus doing, one helps his own\line \expndtw12 sect to grow, and benefits the sects of others, too.\line \expndtw11 Doing otherwise, one hurts his own sect and injures\line the sects of others. For whosoever honours his own\line \expndtw8 sect and condemns the sects of others wholly from\line \expndtw14 devotion to his own sect, i.e., the thought, "How I\line \expndtw9 may glorify my own sect",\loch\af0\hich\af0\dbch\f2\cchs0 \'97\hich\af0\dbch\af2\loch\f0\cchs0 one acting thus injures\line \expndtw4 more gravely his own sect on the contrary. Hence\line \i\charscalex91\expndtw2 concord alone is commendable, \i0 in this sense that all should\line \charscalex100\expndtw5 listen and be willing to listen to the doctrines professed\line \expndtw3 by others. This, is, in fact, the desire of His Sacred\line \charscalex91\expndtw8 Majesty, viz., that \i all sects should be possessed of wide\line \expndtw4 learning and good doctrines. \i0 And those who are content\line \charscalex100\expndtw8 in their respective faiths, should all be told that His\line \expndtw3 Sacred Majesty does not value so much gift or external\line \expndtw-1 honour as that there should be the \i growth of the essential\line \charscalex91\expndtw8 elements^ and breadth., of all sects{\charscalex100\expndtw0\tab }\i0\expndtw12 "\super 2}\par \pard \plain \cbpat8\ql\li0\fi0\ri0\sb0\sa0 \f2\fs20\pvpara\phcol\posnegx371\posnegy439\absw0\absh-245\dfrmtxtx40\dfrmtxty58 {\b0\i0\cf1\charscalex100\expndtw0\f2\cchs0\lang1033\fs21 2}\par \pard \plain \cbpat8\ql\li7\fi364\ri0\sb144\sa0\sl-180\slmult0 \f2\fs20{\b0\i0\super\cf1\charscalex100\expndtw1\f2\cchs0\lang1033\fs21 1\nosupersub See also Dr. Raychaudhuri, \i Pol.
